What Would You Like to Know?

We know what you really wanna know about Orion Little League. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of all the frequently questions we usually get asked regarding our team, coaches and games. If you still haven’t found the answers you’re looking for, feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to answer your questions.

What kind of training do the umpires have?

We have an umpire clinic for all umpires, new and veterans. If you are interested or know someone interested in becoming and umpire please reach out to one of our head umpires, Jon Ditzman.

Little League Baseball Game

How many players are on the team roster?

It all depends on how many kids we have registered. Tee Ball and Minor Divisions: No minimum or maximum but we try to keep between 6-8 players. Major, Intermediate, Junior and Senior Divisions a minimum of 12, maximum of 15.

How much does it cost to play?

4–5-year-old t-ball (co-ed) $55

6–7-year-old coach pitch (co-ed) $65

7–8-year coach pitch baseball $85

7–8-year coach pitch softball $70

9-10 years baseball $85

9-10 years softball $70

11-12 years baseball $85

11-12 years softball $70

13-14 years baseball $85

What documents and forms do I need to bring with me?

Any player wishing to participate in the Little League program may do so by way of either residency or school enrollment to determine their league eligibility based on Little League’s boundaries regulations. Residency, per Little League Baseball and Softball, is the address of either parent or legal guardian of the participant from between February 1 (previous year) to February 1 (current year). School enrollment is defined by the physical location of the school that the participant attends on or before October 1 of the previous year.

What is my child’s league age and in what division can he/she play?

Little League Baseball

Age before or on August 31st of the current year

Little League Softball

Age on or before December 31st of the previous year

How to pay fees

You can send checks to PO Box 597 Orion, IL 61273 or pay at one of the winter practices beginning February 19, 2023-March 26, 2023. If further payment options are needed please contact our treasurer MaryBeth DeBaillie.

League Rules

"Each year, Little League® provides its constituent leagues with current Little League rules, regulations, and policies that outline and define the operation of the program. It is important for all Little League volunteers and parents to be familiar with the most up-to-date version of Little League’s Official Regulations, Playing Rules, and Operating Policies. These rulebooks, published for all divisions of Little League Baseball®Little League Softball®, and the Little League Challenger Division® provide the structure and support for local leagues and Districts to provide a meaningful Little League experience for all children in their community."
